BGBs started out as a collective of musicians from the West Suffolk area, sharing a common love of the blues, getting together from time to time to play the music they enjoyed. Over the months this evolved from the occasional stress-busting jamming session, into a tightly knit gigging band.
Sets include covers of songs by Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, Eric Clapton, Dr Feelgood, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Rolling Stones, Bad Company, U2, Gary Moore, Doors, Stevie Wonder, Zutons, ZZ Top, Steppenwolf, AC/DC, The Commitments, Duffy, Dusty Springfield, Noisettes and more.
In addition to the boys, Carly and Natalie, provide backing vocals and also take individual lead on many of the songs.
Always great fun, the guys have this year created their own personal strategies to ensure their performances retain that live music feel ... read on!
Chris : Usually late, bring guitar and amp, play around with effects pedals for ages, then play and forgets key to guitar solo!
Jono : Bring drum kit forget high hat, drop the odd stick and play … loudly!
Steve : Bring absolutely everything (and more), sing until voice is sore, forget the odd lyric and play guitar as well (How does he do it?).
Andy : Bring oversize bass rig in small car (How does he get all that in there?) make sure got trolly, plug a couple of things in and play something ... oh ... and always play Level 42’s 'Dune Tune' for a warm up…
There we go ... easy, so now we can just have a BEER and enjoy the gig!
